Who would benefit? I remember us being very ban happy with mad cow with Canadian beef...

Or what is avian flu meat/eggs still okay for consumption? I can't imagine.

it was a post on here named, Bird flu ? it tells of the other countries that they/we are looking to import eggs from.

avian flu will not be used for meat or eggs. they will be destroyed. sometimes even if you dont have it according to this mans plight. he got lucky

I still have that baby chick with twisted leg. I asked on BST sites for someone that likes to carve if they could make a chicken leg for me. they think its a joke. so i am back to square one. the kids broke the styrofoam first time i took it off. its a good design just need some nimble fingers now.

I have been reading along and now that he has won, For now at least. His birds are still in quarantine. Anyway, he got very lucky.

I am sorry to hear the news about the chick Granny. I'm sure someone can hep you. I am not to handy on bird braces.

The avian flue has stirred up lots of commotion with the ban for the county fair. I feel worse for my friends, including you guys. Some of them use the money from market to pay for school. Others rely on them for food. Most of them just enjoy showing them. Now they cant. I do them for 4-h. Same as I do for my llamas, guinea pigs, and rabbits.

I am also jumping off the wall because I leave for Brooklyn in 7 days. I wish I could take you all with me! But I tend to freak out while driving more than 4 hours. I don't know why....

I am just hoping this incident won't cause the government to close down all of the shipping options for everybody. Imagine not being able to order chicks from a hatchery....... or eggs from breeders...... I shudder to think we will be forced to rely on Craigs List....... or driving for HOURS to pick up chicks or eggs IF we can legally cross state lines to transport them.........

if there is a dime to be made you know the government will have their share. watermelon, do you travel alone ? I dislike driving now and flying as well.

I just got done with work and chicken chores. Started at 6:45 this morning. I decided tonight to candle my broody eggs. The marans broody has 10 eggs, and I haven't seen her off the nest a single time, so I figure hers are ok. The sussex is new and took over the nest that the marans abandoned. The other day she hopped off to eat and she has NINETEEN eggs. I figured few (if any) would be viable after being started for a week and given up on. Anyway, I've been collecting sussex eggs to give her. So I start candling and the first FIVE I pull out are alive and well. They were under her wing closest to me. So, I quit. If she can incubate NINETEEN eggs I'll sure let her. What's 29 more chicks? :weee
