Sift together & set aside
2 c flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
--
Cream
1/2 c cisco
3/4 c sugar
then add 1 egg
Add milk & dry ingredients alternately. Mix well.

Spread in 9 X 11 greased pan then put 1 pint+ fresh blueberries evenly on top.

Sift 1 c sugar
1 flour
1 tsp cinnamon
Then cut in 1 stick room temp butter or margarine

Sprinkle topping over berries

Bake at 350°F 40 minutes

It will look soft & bubbly. Don't overcook. Let it cool a little before cutting so it can absorb the juice. I like it best warm or micro'd.

couple questions , is all purpose flour ? can I substitute something for the crisco? butter, marg. or oil?

Regular old all purpose flour or slightly less whole wheat flour

Recipe calls for crisco. It wouldn't taste the same if you sub.

I have 2 different toll house cookie recipes. The new one says butter. The original one uses crisco. Completely different taste. Everyone likes the old recipe.

I have most of the ingredients. just need the berrys and crisco. I have never cooked with that before. I also have a yard full of black berrys but the seeds dont sound good.

A new day dawning, Looks to be a beautiful one. The air is still and the chickens are not. I thought i heard the welp of a fox kit. I looked out the windows and saw nothing but the chickens having a good time in the early morning cool. Its quite peaceful here especially in the mornings. No traffic,people,dogs. Just the sound s of 10 or more roosters crowing. I bet my neighbors dont like me much.
