Lisa, I hope you feel better quick ! headaches are nasty things. I also have the migraines sometimes.

I just came in from the chickens . Interesting morning so far. I have a 1 gallon water dish that is maybe 3inches tall. It is shaped in a triangle and I have a rock in the center so it wont tip. I found a bantam dead in it . It barely fit it the container but there it was. It could step over the thing so not sure how that happened. was on its side with head under and its body wasnt even covered with water but half way.
Went to the other coop and found another casualty in the water . It was a mouse or vole, hard to tell because the chickens thought it was Christmas. tossed 13 eggs . they laid 2 while i was out there and they had nail cracks in them so I tossed them too.

I thought of a little trick this morning hen vrs roo . I have 4 black chickens just coming into their own 2 hens 1 roo and 1 dont know. she looks like both so I am thinking late bloomer rooster. Heres what I did. I plucked one long tough blade of grass and gave it to her. She grabbed it and ran like the devil was after her. I also did this with the rooster, He laid it down and called the hens over. So for now I am considering it a hen .

I looked back at the beginning. Started with you looking for help with a weak orpington chick (that you shouldn't have gone and done got!). TwoCrows and Dawg were your first regulars, and then Twist and Suzierd joined, and some others that we don't hear from anymore. Don't think I got here til page 40 or 50.

anyone remember when your child was very little and you told them to not talk to strangers ? Worst thing ever ! Autistic children follow rules (mine does anyway) they need set rules in their life . and they dont change them either.

He will be 17 soon and is also a follow the rules kid. Senior year for him. He has discovered girls, but doesn't know what to do with them. Last year, a pretty girl posed a question, what would you say if I asked you to the next turnabout? Yesterday he came home from first day back to school, disappointed that he didn't see this girl. Why did you want to see her? Because she's going to ask me to the dance! Very sweet, and kind of funny until you consider his age. Everything is in black and white, he misses the subtle shades of gray in social situations. I am breaking my own rule talking about him, but this brings up my latest worry, all the boy-girl drama and some overly experienced girls flirting with my very unsophisticated boy. Worried he's going to get vamped!

About that stranger thing. Yeah we teach them that. Then comes halloween and you send them out to strangers to ask for candy. Lol

I still talk to both of them but not as much. Two Crows more then dawg I guess but she is a mod now and very busy.

Girls worried me much with my son too but so far he has shown no interest in them. He is going to be the real life "40 year old virgin". I have told him this. LOL He dont care.

Hi everyone

Lots of catching up to do here!! Didn't get chance to post much yesterday I have been tackling a mite problem in my little chicken jail coop here

I gave it a good do yesterday as I saw a few. Spraying the mite kill on brought them out. Today was just even worse, I resorted to taking it apart and the horrid horid little things were hiding in between the joints!! I'm hoping this time they are pretty much gone will be spraying again tomorrow to make sure. It's really dissapointing as I'm a regular cleaner sprayer and DE earth person but I guess you can't get everywhere that they hide. I hate the things I really do, have been itching like I don't what untill I got in the shower and what washed out of my hair there is no wonder!! Clothes straight in to be washed too.

Well got Beth into the Vet's at 9 am. She took a look was afraid she might have to amputate the toe. They were going to put her under said come back in an hour. I stayed until she was totally out.
The Vet is doing everything she can as it is a "load-bearing toe" She is all bandaged up with her foot being inside 1/2 of a tennis ball and the "Cone of Shame" (in big booming announcer type voice) around her head.

poor thing still not totally out of the anthesia yet, but sleep probably the best thing for her. Have appointment on Monday for bandage change and to see how its healing. I have no idea what she cut or caught it on . BYC acting up will try more later. TTFN

poor little Beth. I bet she is in pain. I hope they are giving her something. Im sure they are.. Not so sure about a "load bearing toe''? dogs get on fine with 3 legs .
York, I went through that a week or so ago. I made it easy. I sprinkled sevin dust all over the coops, chickens, myself. LOL

I made frozen fried potatoes. I messed them up. hahaa I have some seasoning for grilled hamburger. I dumped half of it in the potatoes. So I thought if I added some flour it might help. It didnt. My stomach is on fire.

I guess I am heading off to a food bank. I sure dont want to. you all behave yourselves.

We used to DJ dances & parties for special needs folks. Some had "dates" & some came alone. They had a snack table, dancing and sometimes games or door prizes. It gave them a chance to get out and do the same things everyone else does.

Food pantry was a bust. 1/4th tank of gas wasted and 2 hrs. They were closed. I am ,I dont know what I am. disgusted , angry, sad, mostly mad at myself I think. Someone needs to teach me how to fish.
