Twocrows I had a big Chantacler roo pass this Spring from similar symptoms. I could never figure out the reason for the bright green poo. Later read that starvation causes it, thought it was kidney damage or something. Started spring worming so had handled him just the week before, then I found lice on one of my girls so I locked them all in the coop and took them out 1 at a time to treat & when I got to him, he was a bag of bones. He died 2 days later. It wasn't until I came a post on here that made me think about how he died. He was so docile & I had another roo in the coop that was Alpha roo & I'm wondering with the winter weather and them being in the coop a lot if the alpha roo kept him from the hanging feeder. It was a sad situation. Hope your hen gets to feeling better. It's worth a try, however this bird definitely has a fungal infection going on somewhere in her body. I have seen this same green diarrhea in birds with slow and sour crops. Her crop is not slow nor is it sour and nothing is impacted. This is why I am so confused with this. Green diarrhea can be some sort of internal cancer which I am starting to think is going on and this fungal infection is from her weakened immune system.
I too am cooking extras for her and she eats fairly well but the weight is still coming off of her.
Wishing, those birds are just beautiful! I've never seen a Serama.
Welcome Jane, you've been busy reading for sure lol. 41 chickens, you'll fit right in here thenWell Ive read all the thread except from Easter to Labor Day. Interesting what spell check is doing. Took me 2X as long to read it while trying to figure out the words. I'm from near Alabama Georgia line, have 41 chickens(all but 2 are less than a year old), 10 cats(mostlly kittens), 3 dogs, and a paint horse. So posts about dogs, cats and horses have been interesting too. Also have a 15 year old grandson who choses to live with us. He loves the farm life as much as me. I have been rretired for 5 years ffrom teaching science for 32 years.
