I am out of data for this cycle. I will be back around the 20th. Too much surfing about the flood!! You guys be good, and if you aren't good, don't do anything I wouldn't do.

I will probably be 150 pages behind when I get back!

The WHOLE flock??  Can't you keep a few?  Has your hub's checked the price of eggs?  I think a month of feed for a handful of chickens is less than what you'd pay for the eggs they will lay.    By the way, what is the new doggy's name?

I'm keeping the hens and roo (six total), the polish and cochin, and the two "special needs" sussex pullets, and the guineas. Everything else is listed. I'm more willing to sell some of the mixes than my EEs.

I've been using flock raiser which is $4 more than "regular" layer feed. We just can't get on the same page. He sees $4 x 52 (a bag of feed a week) and thinks it's a wasted $208 a year. He also panicked when he realized feed was $80 a month.

I'm hoping I'm wrong and the bag lasts more than a week. We have over 30 chickens and I know that's not really a lot, but it's more than he wants to feed. Especially since we're getting three eggs a few times a week. :/

New pup is Ben, but we're not keeping that name. Just until he learns a few other things.

Lovely!  Your nasturtiums are so nice and big and green.  Mine are puny, even in the shade.  Too hot and DRY.
Chelsey is neat looking.  Love the delicate pattern.  Love those EEs!  :fl   for blue.

. Thank you. Wishing .. We had a very rainy summer. That's helped.

Next year I plan on keeping track of eggs and feed. I did this in the 70s to see if they were paying their rent. They were. And when I included the winter when there were few eggs, they broke even for the year.

And there is always chicken dinner to think of.

And your own eggs are fresher and better than store bought eggs.
