This is as exciting as my Friday nights get up here in the frozen north. Big excitement of the day was watching a pair of young deer chasing each other around our field this evening. That's ok because that's the way we like it. Had enough of the young and stupid in our day now we prefer peace and quiet of our little corner of the northwoods. Really glad we have our satellite tho. I would go crazy in the winter if I couldn't keep learning.

AMEN!!!!

I'll take the little pony. I still wouldn't be able to throw my leg over to hop on. Maybe pearl could pick me up and put me on lol

- that little ball of fire is Miss B Havin' (aka Missy) - and boy did she live up to her name, - she was probably a little over a month old there, so believe it or not that was after she had grown quite a bit.

I always wondered about the size of a horse compared to the rider ? I wouldnt get on a small horse because I am afraid i would weigh too much ?
who has chubby hands ? when you close your thumb against your finger and that piece of fat pops up ? looking at the palm. that is hurting like mad. starting to tingle.

Evening everyone!
I hear you Red on the heart attack thing.  My dad was the only one of 4 brothers to make to his 60's and none of them even smoked or were more than a little overweight.  No real comparison for the females in my family for me.  Mom died of a brain tumor and she had no sisters.  My Onc is watching me like a hawk because the stupid drugs have caused pericardial effusion twice.  He's great tho and caught it before any real damage .

It's going to get down into the low 20's to high teens tonight so I had to get outside and harvest the last of the herb garden.  There is just something so satisfying about gathering the last of herbs for the year.  The cold numbing your hands, the smell of the thyme, sage, oregano, rosemary, terragon and the rest as you cut them, it just feels so fulfilling somehow.  Now tomorrow first thing in the morning I will load up the dehydrators with the herbs then head outside and put my gardens to sleep for the winter.  Oh, and get next year's crop of stiff neck garlic into the ground and covered with a thick blanket of hay so it has plenty of time to set roots before the ground freezes solid and it goes to sleep under the snow til spring.
oh how I love the smell of winter. I love going to our little fire pit and sitting by the fire. Love the smell of a campfire too.

It's not so much size as build and fitness of both the horse and rider. A "light" rider can sit very heavily and over-burden the horse more than a heavier rider setting nicely. My little mare was short, but built like a tank - Aero is a big, tall girl but built lighter than Yahzi and I don't like to ask much of her when I ride her because I'm a lot heavier than DD is.
