Quote: I think the millennials were set up to fail. Everything in their life is scheduled, controlled, and overseen by an adult- organized sports, monitored after-school activities, boring "safe" playgrounds. Playground monitors won't let them play tag. They can't walk home alone without someone calling the police on their parents. The kids never get to make decisions, and more importantly, suffer the consequences of their own decisions. No more kick-the-can or neighborhood football games. No more wandering in the woods. No more thinking for themselves- Is that a poisonous snake? Should I climb that old rotten tree? Should we go play in the swollen river? The parents are more worried about their kids having hurt feelings than learning how to persevere and overcome the hard parts of life. Self esteem does not come from a trophy for participation (all the kids know it's empty praise). Self esteem comes from learning and demonstrating hard learned skills and knowledge and being able to perform as good or better than others around you. I actually feel sorry for the millennials. But they still drive me crazy.

I totally agree with every word that you just wrote.

I taught my son math . He's one of the few that can actually do problems in his head and knows how to count change bacterial to a customer. This is basic stuff. He ask me when he was in school why don't they teach math like I did. I told him that he had to learn the crazy way they taught it to pass but to remember the way I taught him. They don't teach common sence anymore. And we would stay out playing football or whatever all day and our parents about had to beat us to make us come in at night. Sometimes we'd get lucky and they'd let us play spot light. There's a whole lot of quite in these kids today sadly.

good example, DD calls today. she has lost her insurance , food stamps the whole nine yards. why ? because she didnt fill out the paper work. was she waiting for someone else to do it ? I asked, how long have you know a while she says. why didnt you call them ? didnt know I could. why didnt you drop the papers off ? vans not working . (her son works right across the street). Ok, I will come take you. Can we do it wednesday she asks ?

every one is quiet tonight.  i am trying to get warm enough to get my shower . cant go to the drs. stinking !   Oh mna ! just realized I have to go through the new round a bout !  I have been staying away from that because well, because i never been in one. .. they couldnt just plug the light in that was there already. that would of been too easy.   I hope dr. will check my hand out for me.

Don't stress, is really no big deal, especially since they still don't really have the inner snd outer lane marked. ....pretty much watch for a hole, get in, g o to your out and take it.....traffic is pretty light every time I've used it

It's gone for now. I'm sitting in the dark all by myself, lol. Husband is washing the bed, so hopefully I can go to bed early on nice clean sheets. There's no better feeling.

Mmmmmmm, clean sheet night is the best! !
