food rewards are terrible !! you sad ? here , have some candy. next thing you know Im obese and depressed. who remembers the m&ms ? red one for a belly ache, brown one for a tooth ache. Man , I used to hurt all over !
The blue ones were my favorite. They made me happy.
My cousin teaches and he's told me the lack of respect for teachers now. From not only kids but their parents too. I tell you one thing if I'd done some of the things that they're doing or saying now, I wouldn't be here today. If I got in the least bit of trouble at school, I got three spankings. Teacher first, mom second, and when my step dad got home, got it again. Needless to say that only happened once. And that was for chewing gum. I'm still scared of bubblelicious today. My mom thinks I'm too hard on DD. Ahe bought a bunch of little toys for DD for when she does well in school. But I don't want to reward her for doing well, because I expect her to do well. Just like I try to stay away from offering treats when she feels sad. It's important to learn to work through her feelings, not treat them with a bandaid.
DD is 6 and at the craft fair she wanted a doll. It was $3. So we decided she will work it off. She has to walk to the neighbor's house to feed and play with her dog, because the neighbor is on vacation. She thinks it's the best job ever.![]()
