So taking a Poll   I honestly want to know what you think....Talked to ins agent today   I can insure the yaks  for  lightening, hail, fire, flood , drowning,  accidental shooting by others   This ins would cost about $350.00 a year  YES  or NO ???     Keep in mind I have $20,000.00 invested in the herd.

They now have liability ins for 99.00 a year if they get out and do damage to neighbors, fence, crops, a car hitting them  or any other type of damage they might do while NOT on my property.  Except for themselves.
Twist, if it was me I would insure them. That's a pretty big investment.

yes they are related to cattle , buffalo and can cross breed with both. Rod one of the renters has worked with cattle. From everything I can find on the internet they are relatively health issue free.
Yakolo?

or yattle or caks
There is a herd of buffalo across from my house.....maybe I can hook you up!

no the farm and most out buildings are insured and the 2 houses. But animals are a separate thing. The fences are Fabulous and nothing older then 3 years old. So far the yaks haven't even "tested" the fence. 2 weeks today.
