you can't beat leaf lard for a pie crust. I suppose you could put sugar in the crust but I would be afraid it would burn or scorch.

sounds wonderful    I just don't seem to have the time to mess with growing my own herbs.  And when I do try forget I have them until to late or they aren't ready when I need them.

I grow herbs in 2 large pots near the kitchen door. That way i don t forget to use them Always have sage thyme oregano chives rosemary. Use them frequently with chicken.

its the uber fine lard you get off the pig organs and inner belly area. No grit when you rub it between your fingers.
