That stinks! Me no likey the gloomy cold either. My house is ranch, always dark too! Windows face N & S, front and back patios. No sunshine ever in my windows. Getcha one of those lights they use to work on the freeways at night!

mine is north & south to with a mb & office added on the north side & the sun porch on the back. That is our favorite room in the house because of the light.
 
when i went out this am to clean the coop one of my older hens was dead..didn't know she was sick but she stopped laying a while back and she thought she was a rooster..crowed every morning.

Sorry about your hen Danna, but lol about her thinking she was a roo & crowing. I got rid of 2 Roo's from the main coop this summer, after that my EE/Cochin mix hen took up the roosters duties & start mating all the other hens. Crazy @ss stuff these birds do :lau

i have heard if you don't have a rooster sometimes a hen will take over their duties..

Sorry granny, didn't know you lost one too. The one I saw enola had talked about earlier today that she had shared on FB, had to go check it out lol.
