How many pounds are there in a stone then?

14lbs in a stone. That's harder to convert than kg to lbs. I notice how Americans seem to like the smaller units for temps and weights. Sometimes there's just not that much difference between 86 and 88 degrees. It's just hot!

I think a stone is more a British thing.

Yes granny I've gone back to the scratch and peck chicken!! One of my favourites too :highfive:
Been on the hunt for some new ones but not found any yet.

I never heard of a stone being a weight. learned me something new.

I met a young man from England when I was a teenager. He talked about weight in stone. I was trying to be cool and not let on that I didn't know what he was talking about. Soon as I could, I looked it up in an encyclopedia (way before computers!!!) and found it was 14 lbs. That always stuck in my mind, just in case I ever had a chance to prove I was cool. I'm such a nerd!
