Mutt, when you pick a dog to work with, do you already have a job or specific client in mind for them, or are you just looking for potential?
Hi Wishing! The shelter dogs I picked today are for the dog training program at Juvenile Hall. With service dogs, I pick sound healthy steady, friendly willing dogs from proven bloodlines. Not necessarily purebred. Yes, potential. dogs that aren't fearful or aloof, are unaffected by noise, hustle and bustle, crowds, and will love their work. Dogs that love humans. So much more, but within that realm, I do have types of clients and jobs in mind for different dogs based on their attributes. One destined to pull a wheelchair and retrieve all day likely would not work for stability and bracing. One that is clingy and velcro is more in tune for diabetic or seizure alert.

That's the only thing that keeps me in check.  I don't want hem to be crowded, so I keep the numbers low.  We don't have a lot of land and we have a lot of neighbors.  Hatching eggs can be addictive, so I also refused to get an incubator.  Do you remember the Tribble episode from Star Trek?
I haven't watched star trek in years. I don't remember it. I know I've got a problem lol. Luckily we're on pearls moms land which is I'm guessing a couple hundred acres. I'm gonna have to stop though. I'm a chickaholic. Is there a chickaholics anonymous around here?
