If the gas is leaking it stinks to high heaven but when it's burning it's ok. I find though it makes the air dry and my eyes itch with it. We have central heating that's also gas, just turn it on and the house is warm. Boiler for that's in the kitchen though. Having them both serviced this work so they are working ok for the winter.

have you tried maybe putting a cast iron tea kettle or pot in front of or on top of the "fire" that would add a little humidity and not use any extra power. maybe with a little vanilla or cloves in the water then you have good stinkums

Your doing a fab job there Mutt

There are a few programs a little like yours over here but with horses. It's amazing how an animal can bring the good out in people, even their true self can emerge.
So true York. They'll connect with an animal. The animal teaches them. I just provide the venue.

Good idea there twist :highfive:
I could give that a whirl and hope the dogs don't knock it over!! The vanilla or cloves would really help with doggie smell too.
Here is my crazy son in front of it a couple of Christmases ago ~

700

As you can see with no Christmas stuff on, it's very plain and the hearth is low too.

Mutt so you have had some kids graduate from your program ?? How are they doing in the real world?? do you ever see them or hear how they are doing ??

Nice terrier mixes by the way

you can get cast iron pots and kettle with extra long "legs" in the states and I would think betweent he weight of the cast iron and the water It wouldn't be very tippy. Nice looking young man and I have no idea why but he just looks british to me.

:lau Twist. Maybe because he is British :gig Yes I get the Robin Hood & HP it's meant to be an elf hat but his head was too big for it!! The onesie was new that day so he just had to put it on, couldn't wait. Looking at that now I've realised how much he has grown as that don't fit him anymore. Where has the time time :idunno

With the youth, It's hard to tell. I wish I knew more. They get sent to long term community program, back to wherever when their time is up, hopefully with better life skills or go to big boy/girl jail on their 18th birthday depending on their charges and their actions. If you're interested, i'll tell you about my prison program sometime.

life has a nasty habit of getting away on a person. The only way I know to stop kids from growing would be a glass box but then they don't do so well. Thinking he is going to be well over 6 ft high when he finishes growing.
