Guess the snakes aren't asleep yet. :hit

I tried to get the chickens to take care of it, but they just worried it into the bushes.

 Are they poisonous camping? We don't really get snakes over here. I would have been running, screaming not taking a pic!! :gig

We have venomous snakes, but that one isn't. Had it been a cottonmouth or a copperhead I would have been pinning it or bashing it and calling for DH. We frequently have the "bad" snakes so I've had lots of practicing in dispatching them.

I have a super power. I can block out all kid voices, especially those that come at me in a form of a request.

Camping, venomous or not and I would still be running!! Your very brave tackling them, I salute you :bow

Good morning to you all :frow

Only four granny  Would be more than enough for me!! Def get those ear plugs out!!

@casportpony I see you got your feather renewed !!
Linda, wish I had that magical power. I really dont care if they have that 2nd piece of whatever or if they can go play or ect.... But why must they ask you for every little thing they do ? Can I take my shoes off is a good one.

well, she has 6. the oldest dont need babysitting and the youngest is 2. I dont think I will have him. Just the ones coming on the bus.

Good night, Red!  Like granny said, Tribbles were these little animals that looked like balls of fur.  They reproduced so quickly, they filled up the star ship Enterprise!
I'm having to expand the starship it looks like. Lol she's still on the eggs today. ::weee

:hugs Nite Red. when you can, I'd like to know about the pie pan heaters?
Granny told me about them. You put a hole in a cookie tin and put the bulb and fixture through the hole. Set the waterer on top and plug it in. 25To 40watt bulb. Look up cookie tin heater. Directions and pics on a thread on here. It describes it better than I can.

We all thank you for what you do!

RED  just because I can spell a word  like yoga  doesn't mean I can do it   LOL   Hard to be superflexible when you have a party ball stomach.     It's not like having saggy naggies  that you and just throw over you shoulder's to get out of your way.
you got the party ball (those wouldn't get me through the night in my drinking years ) but I've got the keg. Looks like I'm nine months pregnant and the baby's dropped. So no way could I reach it :lau

Hey  I just noticed that Peter Pan has a piercing on the end of his handle.    You could probably put a paddlelock thru it.
so he's got a Prince Albert?

Looks like its just me  a southern belle and a cally girl.    Everyman's  secret fantasy  well except for Red he wants to share a bed with me , granny, and 4 springers.  :lau
nope. Granny done said you had to sleep in another bed :gig

LMAO  the saggy naggies I was referring to are usually on or at least attached to a woman's upper torso.    No boxers  I am not my father.

I have no idea  he claims its the only type of jeans he likes  and he would usually wear a belt   but still who wants to see 12 inches of plaid when someone bends over.
I just go commando. That way you don't see nothing but the moon.

The kids are paired up as trainers. Primary, Support and Sitter, so 3 youth for each dog, usually selected from different "hoods" "gangs" and "race" to promote teamwork and a commonality. . They're interviewed for participation in the program. They must have good behavior and maintain "points" to participate. All the kids on each unit are allowed to interact with the dogs unless they are inappropriate, but the trainers are in charge of caring for, training and managing the dogs. i have 1 dog on each of 3 units this go-round. 2 YOP (youthful offender program) units, a transitional unit,15 or so kids. 9 month program where the youth learn life skills and a trade prior to monitored release. ! female unit, 1 male, open dorm setting, very strict. Dogs roam about with supervision, sleep in a crate or on a mat with the primary. 3rd unit is heartbreaking. Boys unit. Highly restricted. no more than 10. These boys have committed violent crimes. They sleep in cells and have a day room. They never leave the unit. They have a large exercise area. Their classroom is in the unit.  Those are the kids I help the most. They've been failed. If they have parents, one or both are in prison. Generations of gang affiliation. If they don't commit the crime, they get killed. The juvey gets a lesser charge., Nuff from me. Hope I explained without going overboard. If I help just one to learn a different way.
I was hoping you would get to see results after the got out. I know that it would make you happy to hear that some were succeeding in life. My aunt fosters troubled children. She was the supervisor over dss here. It always made her feel good to hear that some of her kids were graduating college and succeeding in life. After hearing what those kids went through, it's a wonder any of them made it. Unreal some of the stuff she told me. She went on ahead and adopted two. Now those two are straight a students in private schools. This is just another great thing that you do. Thank you so much mutt. You are a wonderful person and I'm honored that we are friends.

I wouldn't allow her the option. Put food and water in the crate with her so she feels secure enough to sit. She can hop off and on with her own schedule. Anytime that nest is open is an opportunity for another hen to mess with her.
no other chickens can get to her. She's in a crate by herself with food and water. Should I not let her out by herself to free range? She's got plenty of room in the dog kennel. I thought she may just want to walk around outside of the kennel a little bit. Should I just keep her in it and let her get up and stretch in there and not outside?

School aged ones are good to put to work. When my boys were younger my dad would make them practice hammering nails into wood. Kept them busy for awhile. As they got older he has chores for them to do around the garage and yard... Don't know how he did it cause I can't get them to clean their rooms.
