I did ! Then I forgot.

I first thought alstrop (sp) but the white earlobs and black feet turn him into something else . He is hanging with all my black hens. LOL

Got an answer on the sussex thread! Apparently this is fine. Y'all know that SS get more white with every molt, but they said a roo that does this produces chicks with too much white. So he's still good for breeding!

So who's got a favorite method for trimming spurs?

I have used a hand clippers for tree's although I know there is a hot potatoe method as well

Just wondering why do people remove the spurs. Would it be ok to keep them in case of a predictor attack?

I have a small old roo that trips over his. free ranging is good . some never range . some are mean those need to be trimmed .

They can get too long and injure the hens or make the roo walk funny.
