Which is why I can't imagine ever wanting to marry again should anything ever happen with DH or were he to pass away, etc --- no thank you!  There are options for the companionship side of things that don't require the hassle of training a new husband, lol.

I pecked the food and water to get the buddy to eat and drink, but she seems to be doing better and so happy with the silkie there. Cutest thing I've ever seen.

Your dh sounds like e makes you laugh a lot. Talking to him reminded me of my step father (the one I consider my real dad.) Sad to say but it's going to hurt me more when he's gone more than my real dad. Or sperm donor I should say.

I kid you not -- DD's dad was the worst offender. There was one evening I was staying at his place and half way through the night was awakened by a naked woman crawling into his bed ......not sure which one of us was more surprised. (sadly, this was BEFORE sweet DD was conceived so, yes, I was an idiot in love that let him talk his way out of it/back into my heart.........)
