WELL not that anyone was asking but I should be back now. After burning through 75% of our hosts' data in just 10 days they asked that we please stop. And I was out of data also. When I found wifi hotspots I tried to just read and keep up. I had about 2200 posts to work through! e We left about 8:45 this morning. They made a pot of coffee for me! I had a 24 oz. cup from a gas station. I filled it up, drank half, then filled it again. All these late nights have taken their toll on me. We rang in the new year at DH's godparents house. Around 9:30 one of DH's buddies (a best man in our wedding) stopped by and left at 11. We all poured a drink or two and watched the ball drop then the star rise. Two (?) days ago we had a little pizza party for my two and the nephew. The restaurant had a little arcade and between DH and his bro they cleaned up some tickets. My two chose plushie snakes. We're stopping in Little Rock tonight, still about two hours away. Out next nomads are there and DH said I need to have the new coop drawn up by Monday so they can start. I'm so afraid I won't have any chickens left at home. What breed should I go with next? Rare or semi-rare, something to work on since I'm not in the sussex anymore. I don't need high egg production, but I want to be able to get about $20/dozen on hatching eggs. Any suggestions?

Wow that was a long quote. He is a local guy here in Michigan. He had a ginomous highend bird farm. Something happened (township stuff I think), he had to downsize tremendously. Really nice, hard working guy that got the raw end of the deal. I think he originally came from Wisconsin & is or will maybe be going back there. Newfie probably know more about that part. She hatched some of his all black chickens (can't think of their name) here just a bit ago. He also has been working with heritage Barred Rock, he had some nice looking birds, not certain if he still does.

I have time for you! The reason you can't find zoning on horses or chickens is because there aren't any! If you are in the county there are no restrictions. I know that being from CA you can't comprehend this! There is nothing...nada.. that will prohibit you from having horses or dogs in the county. If you look in a platted subdivision the deed restrictions will prohibit you. If you are in a city limit then they will have rules also. I am in the county and have giraffes across the street! Buffalo and zebras and camels too!

That's just crazy to me. There are so many crazy zoning restrictions here. They are all fine for poultry and livestock where I am, as it prevents smelly overcrowding and keeps property values up. 1.25 acres, can have 15 chickens and 5 farm animals but no pigs or cows. Not ok for dogs though. Only 4 dogs are allowed! I had to pay for a 10 dog kennel license.
Are there areas there like here where "horse people" live so I'd have some company?
