I know I dont cook but It fascinates me. Could watch people do it all day. hahahaaa
so, with my GM in mind, she would cook the long cooking rice in water til it was tender and about dry. some liquid remains, ( thats the covering ,stirring part) then she would mix milk and corn starch to thicken and re wet it. she always added a pinch of salt to anything sweet she was making. It brings the sweet out = less sugar. all the ingredients above , she liked raisins in hers. the milk you used at the table was because it sat for awhile and got thick, the butter was to cool it down and because you were a kid .
That sounds good granny. Never had a breakfast rice before.
