We are researching dogs right now. I want another Pit but since are family line has left we are trying to figure out a smart dog that can be trained to be around other animal... especially chickens... Pits are super smart and we have had them forever.. but getting one from an unknown source is kinda dangerous.. how are spaniels when it comes to training??? this question goes out to anyone.

We had an American cocker spaniel when I was younger. Chumley was dumb as a post except for when it came to getting food. He was a grumpy cuss and ended up with all sorts of hereditary problems.

Personally, I enjoy my mutts of questionable breeding. (Though I lean towards pups with herding breeds in them). My experience has always been very loyal and very eager to please. Though peach is very much a mommy's girl.

That is so sweet. I have a mutt right now.. Rocco is a chihuahua mix... cant remember the other half.. Innnu bi. or something that Mutt and twisted and others figured out... dumb as a post but loving and loyal.

She is a purebred Canadian lol.

Best guess is collie/border collie/shepherd/lab/goodness knows.

She blows my mind at how adaptable she is. Equally at home at -40°c and hot socal summers.

What I love the most about oly is that in the summer we go to Millerslavania or to the Puget Sound and she swims and swims and plays with all the little kids around. She is just a sweety pie.. her only bad behavior is trying to climb on your lap to nap cause she is a heavy dog.
