did you find a vet ? what if the calf needs to be pulled ? someone will need to go in there . I hope you rig a way to contain Porter soon and train him to go in. If he was used for a pack yak someone loaded him.

not yet but I have a list of about 3 I could get ahold of. Porter was trained as a pack animal but that was up to when he was about 3. I haven't found an instance where the cow has ever needed assistance with a delivery. Part of the reason I went with yaks was their hardiness and lack of needing hands on medical care, and of course the cool factor . cuz Yaks are cool

I guess I was compairing them to cow births and seems like they need lots of help. You think Porter would have forgotten ? can you throw a lasso from a safe place and see if he will come when pulled ? Of course if he freaks then you would need to get it back off ..

we are taming him down gradually. Slow and steady keeps us all porter included healthy and in 1 piece
