That description of how to sex Dominiques is very descriptive. However, it screws up when it says Dominiques are sex linked. Dominiques are an AUTO-SEXING breed.

In order to get sex linked chicks, you have to breed two different breeds of chickens.

Auto sexing is when you breed two purebred chickens (same breed) and can tell male and female chicks apart by markings on their heads (and sometimes the color of their legs).

Camping there was a guy on the site that states he would raise as many as Cemani 500 chicks a year to pick out 10 breeders that he really liked. He had some very nice looking breeders. He claimed even after several generations he was still getting white toes and occassional feathers.

I realize you have Honas, but I believe their genetics are very similar.

The toes and legs will probably never turn dark.

Thanks, enola, that's basically what I've heard too. My breeder said that clear toes will darken, but the white will stay white.

6 of the 8 donuts are gone papa the only good thing about that is they went home with mama . LOL she got her tooth pulled and there was still infection in there.
