Makes perfect since to me.I really have no problem doing it. It's just more of doing it for pure reasons... May not make any sense. I can't put her down because she is peeing and making me upset. It has to be because she is in pain and suffering. Does that make sense? Or only to me?

Yes, and I have guilt for smacking this old feeble cat's bottom when she squats in my bed in the middle of the night and pees on me! How does Catholic guilt resolve this?
Honestly I would put the cat down and then deal with the quilt afterwards. I mean you want to have good memories of callie and not think thank the lord she is gone which is yet even more guilt
