:weee Red. I'm excited! You wouldn't be able to use them for breeding to sell, but they'll be SO pretty in your flock! And they'll make pretty babies, too. I've got to get the NPIP first. You can be my practice for shipping live birds!
That's fine by me. Wasn't planning on selling anyway. I just love the looks of them.

I wanted so badly to help with the Cream Legbars. But, I wasn't good enough for them..... I had to join the Legbar Club and the APA. I just wanted to breed them. If I had gotten lucky enough to get a show quality one I would have GIVEN it to someone to show. Well, I couldn't do that, the chicken had to be shown by the breeder. Bull shIit, lots of breeders were showing chickens they bought from the importer of the breeder. Then they changed the SOP they were writing so much that my rooster no longer fit the SOP. Then the members started arguing over the proposed color change. Then they decided the chicken's minimum weight needed to be larger. So, now my rooster was the wrong color AND too small. When spring came around and the new generation of hens started laying eggs that were greener than blue, they decided to accept green as an acceptable egg color. I got upset and complained because the breed was advertised as being a BLUE egg layer and that was the reason they were imported.

When someone pm'd me and said maybe I should choose another breed since I was so disappointed with them, I went to the hen house, cut off all of their ID bands and told them they were normal chickens now and I still loved them.

The I got on my computer and pm'd her back and told her I would keep the breed since I wasn't upset with the breed, I was upset with the idiots involved with the breed. Never heard from them again.....
Yes. Control freaks abound. Poor byc'ers get smacked on the Ameraucana thread if they are asking about an EE. I do appreciate the work the breeders so. but it's not for me. Too much culling to try to reach an arbitrary perfect form.

Quote: Hi granny! I haven't ever raised cornish x, but do you have to feed them differently? I've read they will eat non stop and need 2 meals a day rather than self serve. Will they eat all the food and not leave any for the other breeds? I would like to have a little cornish for my bantam coop. They're so beefy looking!

225protien and all day for a while then I think you have to take it or move it so they will get up annd move to eat it. The first one is growing but I dont see it acting much different yet then the others.
