Officially down to "just" 20 hens and 1 rooster in the flock - met up with the guy who wanted a leghorn this morning. Funny thing was that while we were doing the exchange and visiting a bit a guy came out of the little convenience store we chose to meet at, walked over and said, "Who has the chickens for sale?" -- turns out he is looking for some layers. Not quite ready to part with all my girls just yet, but I took his name and number and told him that when I was ready to pull the trigger I'd let him know. Couldn't talk either one of them into taking the roo, but I think I've got him sold now as the same guy who bought my last roo a year ago and just bought a bunch of the brooder babies is "thinking about him" -- I gave him the chance to call dibs, if he passes I'll be listing him on the FB groups and reckon he'll be gone pretty quick.

Then I took her over to the coop and showed her the goats, and let her boy open the pop door and give scratch to the flock. Then I showed them the guineas, gave them some chicks to hold, and the boy picked up a guibea feather for his cowboy hat.

Well of course I had to check with DH, which felt like tattling. But I wasn't wrong! I was right! And it's MY fence!
