Check again on day 14, but I would probably decrease the amount of water you are adding by a freckle for right now. Its hard to make them lose a lot after day 14 if the air cells are way small.
My humidity has ranged from 24 to 35. What do you think I should run it at?
I would try to stay around the 25 mark & recandle at day 14. This will give you a better idea on how they are looking. I'm fighting right now with a batch of Silkie eggs I have in lockdown. They have not lost enough in my opininion, but unfortunately they were mixed in with a lot of LF eggs & that affects how much they lose. Just didn't have the bator space just to place them alone in a incubator. I'm just running them low humidity for today & tomorrow & then tomorrow night I will bump it up. Hope they will be ok & hatch. They are all sold already :fl for me

Two Crows, I want to tell about how you discovered the problem in your flock and what you did to fix it but I think I will screw the story up. I find it very fascinating and I bet others would too. It could also be a heads up for those with wells ..

Isn't that so eggciting, can't wait for them chicks to hatch for Red & his family. It never becomes old hat to me. Its so amazing to see how hard they work to get out of that shell.
I'm gonna be a nervous wreck watching them hatch. I tell myself everyday that I don't need to help them.

Roost, Granny and Linda and anyone else I missed, thank you for all the love. :hugs

Love you all!
:hugs
Just call if you need me. It is a pretty amazing thing. I'm wondering how often you have to hatch to get good at it. Every hatch is like the first hatch for me. I'm praying my temps & humidity will be better this hatch. Installed a fan kit in my still air hatcher. I had 2 hygo/thermo units in the last batch. One in front & one in back and there was a 3° difference. Well when your trying to keep your still air at 102° & the fronts ready 105° its a little nerve racking. Had to bring my temp down just so I was cooking the eggs in front.

every hatch is different . I will never be good at it. I thought I had it all down then a curve ball came out of no where with a new bator and its game on again. My eggs have been on the counter for well over a week and Tom keeps asking me when am I going to put them in. I wonder if I should bother ..
