I pulled a fast one on Tom once (well, more then once) I took Robert to the dr. She said he had allergys so I asked her to write on a script. that the carpet was bad for his bedroom.  She said, I like your way of thinking.   Took it and gave it to Tom. BAM New carpet through the whole house.  I still have the note somewhere.

That's awesome! We have tile and laminate except the bedrooms. The carpet in the "old" part of the house is wrecked, but getting new carpet would be a camp cost. So we'll just keep it until it's beyond repair somehow.

Roberts was sort of new when I did that but the night before my US I went and painted the nursery pink, put pink checked carpet down. LOL My neighbor come and put a frilly dress on him just as he was to meet his GM. It was time for a change

Hey, Danna, my visit was more brief than I had planned as DH ended up coming home from work early and we sat out on the back porch talking the afternoon away -- sounds like you've been busy!
I am going to try and feed the chickens I guess. then a shower. Thank you to everyone making me feel better. Maybe get some of this stink off will help too .

It's amazing what a difference a good shower can make in how you feel, hope it helped (and, if not, at least you smell better)
yep and do the bloody ironing and i have been known to sew a button or two on

LOL - DH came out of the bedroom a bit ago and stopped in his tracks, odd look on his face and said, "You're ironing?" -- red letter day indeed considering the amount of dust I had to knock off the iron (after having my DS, who is so very proud of the fact that he is now taller than me, reach it down for me from the very back of the laundry room shelf). Not that we go around looking like wrinkled messes here, I just manage the wrinkles via laundry but had a couple of new tops that had been folded up on the dresser a bit too long and adopted a very rumpled look. It was kind of nice, he sat down and we chatted away while I got through the tops I was doing -- brought back memories of when we were first married and I'd spend every Sunday evening ironing his uniforms for the week.

My boy starts school next year. So I don't feel guilty about snuggling him and watching cartoons or playing outside instead of chores. The house can be clean next year.

Enjoy every minute of it -- part of DH and I's long talk this afternoon was reflecting back on how fast time had gone by and how much we missed those times when the kids were little.

I would like to say I have never owned an iron but when I married my first husband his mom bought me an iron for a wedding gift. I threw it in the garbage right away. I was very offended. I think there is one here now that belonged to my mom.

By the by - so as not to seem that I have posted and run if I am scarce this week, I will be leaving tomorrow evening after work on a trip with DD -- we'll be gone until Sunday (I think), and I'm not sure how much time, or internet, I'll have available while we're gone -- but will try to check in.
