Lots of folks mix ground venison (deer meat) with ground beef or ground pork to get a little fat in the mix; deer meat is very lean, & deer fat tastes horrible.
Makes some super burgers & chili.
The very best cut on a deer is the backstrap, which runs along both sides of the spine; melt-in-your-mouth delicious  :drool

White, the back strap, Is it cooked like a steak ? Does it need to be cooked well done ?
I just had another sugar drop but I caught it just in time. It was 63.

Glad you caught it. My symptoms are not well today.... Freezing cold. Can't even handle going outside to smoke...

My Granny had sugar issues too...she always kept candy in her pockets!
 



What is this thing? The 2nd pic it's butt is in the air. Feed store smarties are tell me it's an "AMERICAN"

I usually mix in an 80/20 ground beef at a 6lb - 1lb ratio. Freezes better and tastes better than pork fat. Had grilled backstrap for dinner it was delicious.

yes it can be cooked like a steak but only cook it about med.
