It's probably stress, but have you checked them really well for mites?

Wish...are mites visible on chickens? Do I need to give my chicks something to prevent them? (rem I'm new)

yeah no mites i clean and dust their nest box's perch poo tray's every day go out three night's a week to check them

i think it's just stress any how see you tomoz wishing love and peace to you and your's

You can see them, but they are very small. It's better not to treat them unless they have a problem. Some worming medicines are already useless since the worms developed immunity. Best thing is to give the coop and the chcikens the once over every couple of weeks. Pick them up and check under their feathers around the vent. That's usually the easiest place to find them. A good dust bath and healthy immune system should be good enough to keep them at bay.

I have some diatomaceous earth sprinkled around. I should be moving my babies out side tomorrow.
They have had garlic, ACV, fresh oregano and other goodies since day one. I'm leaning towards the raising them the natural way.

there are red mites all over the place here. they are on my porches, chickens , everywhere. Its a losing battle.

I was thinking of putting dawn in my sprayer that attaches to the hose and just soak everything. inside the coop including the chickens . I did that once before just to some honeysuckle and it died.
