Why not any help? DD seems to like the idea, but she should still be responsible for clothes and drs and teacher meetings. It's not like you would be adopting him officially, he'd still have 2 parents out there who should be part of his life. And food shouldn't be a problem. I have been known to grumble about taxes, but never for food stamps. It's not even stamps any more, it's like a credit card. Pretty much anyone can qualify. Why suffer? Use the benefit that's offered. You will get through the month a lot easier.

I'm just thinking how much you could impact this child's life for the good. It's a huge thing to take on, though. Especially when you are not well. Maybe think of now as a trail period. See how it goes. In the end, he may be helping you as much as you help him.

My grandfather always had us slice a piece of potato and tape it over the bite, it pulls the poison out from bite. Leave it on for 24 hrs. It really helps. Sounds stupid but its one of the old wives remedies.

It's always worked for me. I make my kids do it whenever they get bit or a sting.

Another one is if you have a sliver you can't get out, tape a piece of bacon fat over splinter. In a couple days sliver is gone.

You don't get it for him, it would be for you and your household. Don't think you can buy chicken feed, though, or cigs, but think of the funds it would free up for you. You should look into it whether or not GS is living there.

I'm sure you would qualify for food stamps right now without even having GS. I would try. It won't hurt any and might even make it where you'll have money for food at end of month.

I don't know if it's different by state (don't think so) but my family qualifies for food assistance! Tom is on SSI, you and DS on disability. If you don't qualify, then I don't know who should!
