Linda contact person with pole barn on 1.5 acres. See if they will do a rent to own. $39,000 sounds like a good price for there. Can u rent a motor home(rv) to live in while u build? People do this all the time here.

This is an easy thread to get behind on. Miss a few days means a few hundred pages! Totally worth catching up though, in my opinion.

That is such an understatement, lol. My most recent absence was over a month and I think it will take twice that long to try to catch up

It seems like Devin is stuck on our original plan of buying a house instead of renting... Especially now that Kyle has no one to help him along. He says we have to plan on keeping Kyle with us no matter what. I get it. I love Kyle too. Just taking forever to get our ducks in a row.
When you say that he is stuck on that plan are the two of you not quite on the same page? I think that no matter which way you end up going it is SO important that both of you are 100% in agreement with the plan you choose to take as being "drug along" into someone else's decision can lead to some serious resentment and when things get stressful (as they will in the process regardless of which way you go) that can make a small issue become a huge rift between you.

I know you are under a lot of stress, but if you can manage to stick with the plan, it will take much less time than going back to renting. Imagine that rent check every month going into your house investment! Once school starts, maybe you could find a part time job or volunteer somewhere for a few hours a week. Libraries are a nice quiet place to volunteer. Anything to get out of the house for a few hours a week.
Wise words, as per usual, here.....especially with regards to finding something that can get you out of the house and give you a sense of a purpose of your own, that goes a long way towards allowing you to have a healthy mindset for yourself, which allows you to bring a happier you to the table in dealing with everything else.

I was thinking along the same lines, although with all those young men to house, they might need 2 RVs!

Excellent suggestion.

I know how overwhelming and hopeless it can feel at times, Linda, but there are people out there who are willing to work with you - finding a "private" transaction might be just the thing for you as you can take the credit issue out of the equation to a great degree.

We have too many land regulations here. Washingtonians love their square footage.

Is the pole barn in a condition that could be converted to a living space? I know plenty of people who have made a pole barn into a house - whether you did so permanently or just as a temporary to allow you a place to live while you build as you go on your permanent home.

HI MARE!!! So happy you are back!

It must feel good to get settled and to have a new flock to plan and look forward to! What town are you in? We might be a half day drive away, depending on where you are.
