H20!!!! That's our road trip!!!! I actually had a dream about it!! Meet at mares and off to twisted see go!!!!!

Just wanted to give a big thanks to Kiki, she sent me some fabulous clothes for my granddaughter and my yet to be born grandson. They are very nice!

My grandson will be born next wed, on sept 7.

We need to plan for next summer!

Back from back to school night. He's got some impressive teachers this year. Should be good... now if I can just get him to study...

Sorry about the chick, camping. It was the first thing I thought when I saw the new babies, that maybe you didn't need to get them. I didn't want to say anything and jinx you, but it happened anyway. Now you are stuck with those adorable little fluffy balls of cuteness. Such a shame... such a shame.

Rarity is the bomb!

Do kids say that anymore? I was watching the news on the hurricane earlier, and it looked like some of the clouds were going to reach you, but better that it doesn't. LA has had enough rain for now.

We could meet in Ashland and go see some plays! Nice that Mare is so close to you. h2o is closest to me, and after that, Kathy.

Granny, don't know what to tell you about CB. My younger would have these painful stomach aches until I said he could stay home, and then miraculously, they would vanish and he'd be running all over the house. I figured a mental health day every so often wouldn't hurt. Now that he's older and can't afford to miss class, I tell him he has to have a fever or some bodily fluid flowing uncontrollably from an orifice to stay home. Swing by the school and get his makeup work. Plenty of time to finish it over the long weekend. He's too sick to go to school, he's to sick to go to the fire station, too, but the swap will be fine... all that fresh air is healthy!

Good morning everyone!

Jane, saw the weather map and figured you would be getting some rain. Hope all your seeds sprout!!

Taxi mom has to get going! Later everybody!

Yes. I think very decision to skip work/class is an instant stress reliever. I wasn't joking when I called it a mental health day.

I think of the times I didn't feel well, but went somewhere because I was looking forward to it. Bet I would have felt worse if I had to go somewhere I didn't like.

Good luck Mare! That's one of those situations when feeling a little under the weather would suddenly make me feel as if I had the plague!

Morning camping! How is Miss Rarity today? Has to be one of the best chicken names ever!

Quiet as a church mouse in her box. :hide I had to drag cages around and put up a better fence for her quarantine. And I'm picking a couple younger cochin pullets (Margie and Marigold) to live with her. But I have a customer on the way so that had to be after lunch! Busy little bee today!

But my tomorrow customer canceled, so clean coops mean I can relax a bit this weekend.

Torture chamber shortcuts.

Bbq shredded chicken.

Spray crockpot with non stick spray. Throw a couple (3 or 4) frozen chicken breasts in, add some fresh garlic and whatever seasonings you like in. Turn on high, dump a cup of bbq sauce on top, cover and walk away. Dinner ready in 7 hours.
Before serving, shred in crockpot with a hand mixer.

I know the FDA says not to do this from a frozen state, but I've been doing it for 20 years like this and never had an issue.
I do my chicken and beef straight from frozen to crockpotand crickpot them on lowovernight. Been doing this forever, and food comes out delicious.

It's ok to eat chick feed as long as you have plenty of oyster shell or other calcium source. I fed my whole flock chick feed for most of the summer when I had so many babies.
Thanks camping! Will grab some tomorrow.

I switched off gamebird for a short while to chicken layer crumbles, bc seemed like between having my ducks and at the time 3 huge geese, and the quail all on gamebird feed, I was going through feed like mad, much faster than chicken layer feed. But even with the oyster shell, egg production dropped. Now the geese have a new home, so the quail are back on the gamebird feed again and everyone is happy, producing well and healthy :-)

Camp i ordered a bator, but don't have fertile eggs.I have looked everywhere for silkie eggs.Hatchery eggs are so expensive with all that shipping...
