Camp i ordered a bator,but don't have fertile eggs.I have looked everywhere for silkie eggs.Hatchery eggs are so expensive with all that shipping...

Did you try ebay? Or the bst threads? BYC members usually have better rates, I think.

there was a lady here that raised silkies i called her and she doesn't anymore.i was thinking about looking for a Ky thread on here maybe someone close..

it's about 4 hours away from me to grannys so probably the same.

Shipping is high everywhere i look.I really wouldn't mind paying it but i'm afraid i will screw up the hatch and all the chicks die.being my first time to hatch it' a little scary...

Good luck! Try some local eggs in a mix you like first, for practice.

Yes I agree practice with some local eggs, I as so disappointed with my last hatch. None of the shipped eggs hatched. I had put one of my own in that did hatch so I believe it was the shipping that screwed up the eggs.

Shipping is really tough on eggs. Even Sally's came scrambled, and she's the best at packing.
