Wait wait breaking news!!
I just dremeled my roosters nails and spur. It was awesome. He was much easier than doing a dogs nails. I hope that will help out my poor hens backs.

Quote: You should talk to a dr about getting him vaccinated for it. I had the chicken pox when I was 25 and it was NOT PRETTY. I was very sick and depressed. Could not go out for over 2 weeks. Could hardly move for one week. Even my mom ventured away from the farm to come and check on me. The older you are, the harder it is on you. I hesitated on the chicken pox shots for my guys, but by the time they were teens without getting it, we decided it was the best way. Didn't want them going through what I went through.

Ohhhh please tell me I am right in my assumptions of figuring this all out!!!!

The hens thank you!

The second Serama pullet has gone broody and sleeping in her private next box. Without any females to fuss over, the 4 randy boys have really calmed down and are very quiet tonight! Lovely. We'll see if they make a ruckus in the morning.

I hadn't decided. It's kind of pricey, but looks like it's grown a lot bigger. I went the first 2 yrs, and it was neat, but fairly small. I would go to see the chickens, though. Fairgrounds is only 10 minutes away! Sure wish they'd have it on the weekend, but the organizers are 7th Day Adventists (I think) so they cannot conduct business on the sabbath.

Are you going? We could go together!!

This was from either the first or second year. Tomato volcano and pumpkin mountain. The link showed a LOT more exhibitors. It looks huge now compared to when it started.
