Had a friend but something from Napa lately with a $25.00 rebate, She filled out paperwork and sent in she gets back a $15.00 visa card and a note saying the other $10.00 was "donated" to a charity. Fine then send her the paperwork so she can get the tax write off. And POST/STATE that on the rebate form.

well I cant find original post about the toilet. just where wishing quoted. Maybe I am losing posts too like Jane. how is pulling the toilet helping ? if its slow cant you use drano ?

then I can easily snake the drain and also turn the toilet up side down and flush out with a garden hose.

The school supply issue is as old as time. Parents have been complaining about it for years. Eventually they do what I do. The lists are never right anyway especially once you hit high school. Like today... I need to buy nitrite gloves... A planner... Science supplies and such they don't put on the list. I always wait until the first day to see what they really need. I just purchase the pens pencils and composition notebooks for the beginning of the year.

been there and done that only on the other side of the table. IJP's and training plans and such. Was so funny as the corp nurse was always trying to get the "clients" on a diet and this lady weighed 300 to 400 lbs.

Oh, I hate to hear that - I completely understand why you would do it for them, but have never seen it work out well for folks that do that and, in fact, have had many clients back in my Energy Assistance days who found themselves royally screwed because of trying to do something nice for someone else by doing that. I really hope it doesn't come back to bite you.

My credit is not good and I want to buy a van so I am hoping I can clear it up. I know she wont pay it. They never do. I feel like I have failed her somehow. Im sure I have. I tried to raise responsible kids but obviously it didnt work out. .

You stop that right now. You did not fail her - so often children grow up to be the adults they are IN SPITE OF the efforts of their parents. Just look at all the really nice people who have raised kids that went on to be adults who did horrible, horrible things -- that is the fault of the adult child, not the parent.

That's what keeps me up at night. She's still my mom. And I'll end up having lunch with her tomorrow. Maybe she has a personality disorder, too. I never know who I'm going to meet.

It really sounds like the last week or two have been a trial for you guys -- it is great that he apologized, but I would encourage you to find time for the both of you to sit down, no distractions and no drinks, to really talk about everything and get back on the same page, clear the air, etc.

Tell me about it -- the yard here is completely dead after going the entire summer with no one living here so no one watering and, as you pointed out, no rain......I've just written it off and am not going to worry about trying to bring it back now, we'll get it squared away come spring.

Hi twist!! Just got a bunch of texts from the kids... I guess I'm buying more school supplies today. Specific stuff for certain classes. I'll be back later.

Gotta love that - that is part of what I'm headed out to do here too......really hoping we can put off the super-duper calculator until DH's next payday......

I like them scrambled with cheese but he has them fried well with nothing but bread.

For sandwiches I'm a fried on plain bread person too - but for eating just eggs I love scrambled with a little meat (ham or sausage) and cheese.....though at the moment all we have is store eggs and I refuse to eat them on their own, DH is supposed to be talking to one of his regular customers who he has heard has a large flock and sells eggs so we can get on as a customer until we get up and running with our own birds.

I would always give the families a heads up and also let them know to speak up if they didn't like what "the man" wanted. Human Services is set up to serve Human Services first and if the "client" gets any benefit from the that was bonus.
