Greetings from North East, Maryland

My name is Laurie and I'm about to begin hatching my first brood. I've never done this alone before. My father always took care of that and he's 1000 miles away in Wisconsin. I have a nice quiet, rural back yard that is begging for a small clutch of hens. I'm almost set up to begin incubating and will be receiving my eggs in the next two weeks.

Oh and I haven't broken the news to my husband yet. He was dead, set against it, so I figured that since it wasn't a topic of discussion, I wouldn't discuss it anymore. Any suggestions?
