Adorable! Yeah, each individual is different. Dorie likes some petting and snuggling but only at certain times. It was months before she hopped up onto my lap on her own and she still doesn't do it often. My first Boston LOVED petting and would paw at me if I stopped. And she loved being in my lap whenever possible and carried around the house.
