Yep... and that goes for the president too. Its okay for you to have people protecting YOU with guns.. but we cant protect ourselves?.. Riiight.. okay..

I worry about this. I understand you guys have right to protect yourselves, but then you hear about all the massacres in relation to fire arms within America. I'm Australian, I still remember being little and hearing about the Port Arthur massacre (google if you haven't heard it) in my country. Before that our gun laws were pretty relaxed. That was our catalysis for change. I'm not saying our crime rate is the best or trying insult gun activists, but hope something comes out of the recent massacre of innocent children other than words and heartbreak.

The only good that can come from this horrible incident is to have a calm sit down talk where the treatment of the mentally ill is addressed. There is a distinct correlation between people who commit these atrocities and anti depressant/anxiety medications.

http://ssristories.com/index.php?p=school <- gives a real good run down of many of the shootings.

Until treating the mentally ill is addressed, we will continue to see violence and unfortunately, it seems that societal (violence in TV, movies, games) and environmental influences are increasing the occurrences of mental illness.

Lets for a moment say this dumass shooter couldnt find any guns and wanted to kill as many children as possible... What would he do then?? He would probably make a bomb... If he didnt know how already if sure he could find out, probably on his cell phone... Now instead of shooting some people he would be blowing up half a school... The point is, if people want to do harm, they will... Taking one means from them isnt going to stop them... Banning guns will only result in people who obey the law not being able to defend themselves... People say we dont need assault rifles because those arent for hunting... The second amendment isnt about hunting... Its about keeping ourselves armed so we cant be dictated by corrupt governments

In Chicago it's virtually impossible for a private citizen to own a gun. Chicago has one of the highest, if not the highest, rates of violent crime in the country.
In Dallas it's very easy for a private citizen to own a gun & many do. Dallas has a much lower violent crime rate that does Chicago.
