HALLOWEEN HATCH!!! Anyone

I take the turners out and use cartons/card board trays and hand turning by tilting the carton and sticking a small spreadable cream cheese container under alternating ends, if I feel I have to. I do it about 5 days before the hatch. I had some Japanese bantams or Seramas surprise me on day 18 last month. Luckily, I'd already put them in the hatching incubator with a group of eggs that were a day ahead of them.

OH, that is so cute! You must be computer savvy. I don't know how to do all that stuff, but I sure enjoy looking! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you.

It's really easy, actually. It's a little program called Comic Life. Everything is drag and drop. I took the picture of Red and his baby sitter Buffy near the baby pen door this afternoon. I kept thinking it looked like they were talking and getting ready to knock.

I put 24 eggs in my just completed homemade incubator today. Should be a Halloween hatch if I really do have the temperature regulated well enough. Could have boiled eggs if not... All of mine are probably cross breeds but come from Cooper maran hens, Ameracuana hens, and several unknown contributors.

Hey, srsmith69 ....
welcome-byc.gif

and, welcome to the Halloween Hatch party thread! What kind of incubator did you make? Styrofoam, wood, ??? I went to the feed store today, and they had 3 styrofoam coolers that they receive medications in. They said I could have them. I just took one, but now wish I had taken all 3, to give away! I thought I might attempt to make one myself. SOMEDAY, that is .... I have way too many projects in the works right now.

Again, welcome, and hope you enjoy!

I have eggs in the incubator- I put them in about 5 mins ago. My eggs tend to hatch 1 days early so I figured I'd set them today. I have 3 eggs from my own flock- 1 light sussex egg 1 farmyard egg and 1 presumed Black Rock.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm with ya!

I just put one egg under my Silkie pullet yesterday. She's only 7 months old and went broody early last week. We'll see

She rolled it around this morning before settling back down on it so here's hoping.

hmmm i have an important situation on my hands. Just got another BIGGER egg from my newly laying silkie pullet Bella. It's probably the biggest one she has worked up for me to date. Should i just crack it open and check for fertility?? Or should i add it in to my other staggered egg from bella that's in there?? This new egg will be 3 days behind...the other one is 1 day 9 hours.

Here is the momma Bella.
