HALLOWEEN HATCH!!! Anyone

I take it back...Tonight my guy found the lost egg cache (they have been hiding eggs this week) between some hay bails we had moved. He wants them in the incubator. We have 7 Mystery Eggs for a Halloween hatch.

Of coarse!! I stay home and pass out candy so what a perfect night have a hatch..

PortageGirl what a GREAT idea with the names never thought about that..

alright then count me in. Tho i will be setting tomorrow around lunch time...that would bring to October 30th if i were to go exactly by 21 day's. But since all my egg's are bantams "and seeing my last (all banty) hatch went 50% out on day 21 and the other 50% out on day 22" i think i qualify for being in the Halloween hatch catagory

What day to you constitute as Day 1? If you put them in tomorrow (Thursday) would Friday be day 1 or would Thursday? I hope this isn't too confusing

I am going to try to get my ready to hatch on Halloween!!! I didn't realize that they could until I read this post!

this is a VERY good question. My first hatch i basicly flew by the seat of my pant's. The second i put my eggs in the bator i went to my calander and put a check mark on that day before i went to bed.."when actually it had only been a few hours and not a full 24" From there on out i put a check mark each day in the new box before i went to bed to signal a full day of incubateing. When i told everyone how i had started counting in the hatch thread i was in here on BYC, alot of people told me i was counting wrong and was basicly one day "off". So when i was put in my place about the day counting it all seemed very clear to me once i thought about it.

You put the eggs in the bator at say 7pm when you get home from work. Not untill 24 hours has passed and your back home at 7pm do you need to count anything. Once that full 24 hours has passed...congrat's!!! you have just completed your first day of your current new hatch! This is basicly the way i am now thinking when it comes to figureing out what and when day one should be logged onto your calender. I could be completely wrong...but it makes alot of since to me at least.

I'm still waiting on the eggs in the bator that are due 10th-11th, and won't have any more eggs for about 2 weeks or whenever I get mine from CJ Exotics, so I won't be able to have a Halloween hatch.

I wish, though... it's my favorite celebration
