I don't have anything hatching, but I've been following this thread. I was so sad for you when I read about your cat trying to "help."

ok, well it's day 22 for me, and out of 25 eggs i have 9 live ones and one that is alive, but i have to figure out how to kill it (intestines are hanging out).

i'm leaving them in though, cause when i went into lockdown, some of the eggs were behind on developement, but alive, so maybe i'll have some frankensteins yet???

Grats to eveyone so far.

what day to we have to set for a thanksgiving hatch???

I had 3 baby pekins hatched this morning...so much for halloween birthdays!

this one was trying to back in. Check the duck forum for more pics. Thanks guys for letting me be part of your hatch!

Well despite my problems the other day (temp drop for a long while) some did manage to hatch, though I had an awful number die in shell which I was afraid of. None of the seramas made it. But I have TWO Marans! Yay. And four of Halo's babies - those are some tough tough birds. I have four sizzles but one is splayed and another appears wry necked.

I made the mistake of adding cold water to the outdoor incubator when the temp outside was about 40. Then left for the day thinking nothing of it and got home to a 90 degree incubator. Hello STUPID.

Now I have had it reinforced that you don't add cold water, to an outdoor incubator on a cold day... Sigh I do feel stupid.

But I didn't expect a great hatch and more than half the marans were clears after that nasty shipping episode. And a third of Halos were also clear. So any salvaging from shipping like that is a good thing. Think positive thoughts...

I'll get pics once the silly mucky things are dry, some are pretty messy. The splayed one might make it, doubt the little wry neck will.

Congrats to you all, GO FUZZIES!!! And the baby duck pics are killing me...
