HALLOWEEN HATCH!!! Anyone

OK, I am home from work now. My humidity dipped to 50% while I was not in attendance. I may need to take the next couple days off! LOL Naw, I need to work to support this habit I have.

My DH (of 38 years) always says, "Kath, you do nothing in moderation!" I just don't know why he thinks that. Ya know, we just wanted a few chickens for fresh eggs. That was a few months ago. Now, I am building breeder pens. All this because of BYC. The addiction is a rough one to get through!

I would like to be the polite one here, and welcome our newcomer ...

Welcome to the Halloween hatch party. We have a gracious host (3chickens) who allows all this nonsense to go on for half the night!

Don't mind those 2, they are preoccupied! Welcome!

OK, on with the word game ... errr, name game. We are on X, and I didn't see any names. HHmmmm?

Chickenlover54 - I've got Seramas due, too! Down to ten (candled the other day and three were no more. Did an eggtopsy on the most advanced one - quit about day 14 or so. Amazing - it had tiny little toenails on its wee feet, and itty bitty down nubs all over. *sigh* Poor little thing.)

Hmm... all I can think of for X is.... XFile! LOL Of course, that means there needs to be a little Mulder and Scully to go along with it.

Neferset - Congrats on the little Spookybaby!

Darn it .... I woke up this morning and immediately checked my humidity. Again, it had dropped to 52%.

I guess I need to check it every 3 or 4 hours til hatch. I shouldn't have slept an entire 6 hour stretch!

On another note.... DS (25) had surgery last week (to rebreak his broken ankle), and he tells me last night that he wants me to take him to his Dr appointment Wed. Mind you, his Dr is about 4 hours away! I'm cringing on the inside as I smile and suggest that DD (19) could probably drive him in my van. He says she is not a good driver (only 2 totaled vehicles) and really wants me to. Now I really do not want to take the day off work .... I only work 6 miles away, and can come home for lunch break to check in! How do I get out of this, to stay home for the hatch?????

Well, see .... I have chicks due all week! He has an IV of sorts in his leg, to keep it numb, and they need to remove it tomorrow also. I'm just going to have to convince him that his sister now knows how to drive. After totalling the 2 vehicles (and denting mine up ... in the ditch), she has improved! Yea, she is more experienced now, right?!
