HALLOWEEN HATCH!!! Anyone

I have 7 this morning. 2 Olive Eggers, 1 Black Copper Marans, 4 Jersey Giants. Another Marans is working on making a show, and I have more pips. Waiting here ... hoping to see more action VERY SOON ! !

Congrats to you all. Keep writing, I love reading everyone's posts. I am having trouble staying online (darn satellite service), so can't comment to each one.

Hi Kathy,
Are you on day 20 or 21? Looks like you're getting a high hatch rate.
Awesome.
what an intersting variety of eggs! Are they your own or did you buy them in?
Do you keep them all?

i have 3 pipping now,i can hear them tweeting to each other, its better than chrismas ,,hehehe

well a early high has turned into a somber low. In the brooder i have my secret cross babies that hatched late day 19 into day 20. I went 2 for 2 on them so i was very excited for them. Also i had a day 20 WBS out in the brooder as well...they all seem to be sleeping ALOT lol but im sure they are just very tired from the hatching.

I still have 4 WBS's, 2 MFD's and 1 black mottled in the bator with no pipping at all. I'm really worried for them. But today at 3:30pm will be the official start of day 21. So....i know i have some time left...but i always expect the worse and hope for the best. Is anyone where im at??

Keep the faith Asylum.

We're on day 20 and can't stand the suspense. 2 are pipping but taking their time.
How many do you have out now? Just the 2 secret breeds?

You said this is your first hatch? That's great, mine too. We have 2 pipping, what kind of incubator are you using? What kind of eggs are you hatching?

Go Fuzzies!!!

Glad you all have some late arrivals!

I'll be setting eggs again since this didn't go well and this morning I found my favorite chicken dead. She'd somehow wedged her head sideways in the feeder this morning and hung herself to death. In the hopes that some of her eggs were in the coop, I'm setting them all, and the egg that she hadn't laid yet today from when I butchered her. No, she'll not go to waste in any sense, she was too good a bird to just throw her away. RIP Caladan, she was the best of my Partridge Rocks and the last.

I'm still giving my gimp chicks an opportunity to improve so we'll see what the day brings. Luck to you all.
