Update

Icabod finally has a set of hobbles that will stay on (duct tape) he slipped four other sets of less sticky ones, and he's doing well. Igor is up and active, eating, drinking and walking

I ended up nursing him and rubbing his neck, back and legs for about 14 hours before he really got up and walked. He spent so many of his first hours, small, curled, and immobile, I thought I'd lose him for sure. He's a fighter for sure. I'm having trouble now telling him from Spook. And that's a good thing. Three Splash sizzles in one group is pretty nifty.

So I'm up to five blues and five splashes (three hatches) lol exactly the 50/50 that Splash Roo over Blue Hen should produce. I'd rather more girls than boys but that hasn't been my luck this year and one of the eldest blue Sizzles is a Roo.

I'm taking pictures today - promise. Got the camera working yesterday. Now Laura can't leave with the battery charger, I have the camera case.

Prayers for all those still hatching - Go Hallows Eve Fuzzies!!!!

Are you finished hatching? Do you have more to go?

Hooray for Igor! Sounds like your therapy did the job! Now, for the sexing ... LOL
My very first hatch was a barnyard mix. Actually, I got the eggs from the local Farmer's Market and a few from a gal at work. I hatched 27 of 30. I gave these to an older lady who lost the last of her chickens to a coon. She was so happy. She told me a couple weeks ago .... unbelievable, that she got only 3 or 4 roosters out of the entire lot! Well, I hope I have that kind of luck again! ha

Good luck to you all. I'm done with hatch # 1, called it quits with 15. I'm good with that!

Yeah that hatch is done. After the cool down disaster I was lucky to get any and I have ten healthy peepers, so I'm just flat grateful.

I find the ones assisted that then bounce are some of the strongest, rather than weakest. I've an amazing Tom who had a lot of help, who shuns shelter, sleeps outside, rain, snow or freeze and is an amazing free range tom and flock protector.

I won't keep a bird that doesn't thrive, but that happens in normal hatchlings too. It just doesn't grow right, feather right or do well - you cull it. But hatchlings aren't responsible for incubator conditions, or our mistakes. So I give them a shot when I can.

Thanks...I cant wait to see my babies... They are mixes from before I seperated my flocks. Most of the chicks come out frizzled, but the one that is pipped is a black star/ S S Hamburg mix, I cant wait to see it!

YAY! Great SAVE! Having a stand by incubator can be such a godsend! May they all do well and have cool names LOL.
