Us, too! And it was a lovely, warm, windy ... spooky ... night. I loved it! But I sure missed all the kids! Why not? We bought too much so we have a ton left. There were tornado warnings so not many people were out

AwesomeWE HAZ BABEEZ!!!!!!
EDIT to Add:
Nineteen eggs set ... two hatched ... fingers crossed for maybe a couple more? These two are Silkie crosses. One is much larger than the other, so I'm guessing s/he is out of the Jersey Giant KDO (Kindergaten Drop Out.) The other looks just like the bigger one, but is half the size. If s/he isn't the same cross, it's half New Hampshire Red, the other KDO. Both are dark blue-gray, so who knows what they'll turn out to be ... fun surprises.
They haven't held still long enough to count toes, but I will when I transfer them to the brooder ... at which point I hope to take some pictures, as well. On a side note ... I was SO convinced I wouldn't need my brooder, because there were so many duds and no real signs of movement, that I never even set it up! It's warming up as I type ...

We had an Australorp 5 years ago that was a little meanie. She would peck everyone one by one on their headshe was a little bully.
I don't think I really have any bullies anymore. I have a loaner who hangs alone all day every day. Sometimes it pretends it's a ducks and hangs out by the pond with my ducks. She's odd.
I have a RSL who cleans everyone's face for them. They all come running to her and one by one she cleans them up... One of her babies was doing this yesterday to the chicks, I about passed out from laughing so hard. It's the chick I want to keep too so I'll have a new face cleaner for years to come.
Neither does @FortCluck ... It done got "ET!![]()

I can't get the pics to upload at the moment (technical difficulties!) but we have five little toes on each little biddie-foot ... just like Papa. It looks like Herman the House Rooster has FINALLY figured out that he's a CHICKEN not a "people." He's almost three ... it's about time!
Oh - and I highly recommend setting up your brooder BEFORE your peeps hatch ... even if you don't expect any to get that far. I've been scrambling to find all the stray pieces. The tiny feeders & waterers were easy, they were actually (wonder of wonders!) in the drawer where they belonged. The chick starter and the business end of the brooder cord ... not so much. And after much searching for something to put in the waterer to keep babies from dunk-drowning, I have come to a very disturbing conclusion. It's official. At long last, I have finally LOST MY MARBLES!
