They're supposed to be the best tasting duck and lean too. I do not eat meat, but my family does so that's why we want to raise Pekin muscovy crosses for meat. It's the best cross I've heard for meat.

Before giving away a bunch of young Muscovy drakes, I was doing a processing day. My tutor asked if we were doing any ducks. How silly to say I’ve never had duck meat, and just give away five Muscovy? She took the fat for cooking. I had read that they are the best tasting and lower on fat too.

Anyone naming their chicks spooky names or am I the only nerd who's picked out names I'm keeping 2... One will be Morticia, the other will be Wednesday. It's fitting because my chicks should be mostly black.

Ugh! I stopped getting alerts for this thread and could not find it until today. (Saw it in new posts.)

Well, everything is going pretty good. But Dazzle, the broody, moves from her nest sometimes and goes to another nesting box. (I have three) I do have a few fake eggs in all the other nests to get the other hens to lay. Maybe she sees those and sitting on them forgetting her other eggs? Well, every time it happens, I move the fertile eggs under her. Any ideas? It is only day 2.

Days 1-3 are the most important for temperature is there anyway you think the other would continue to lay in the other boxes if u removed the ceramics until she either learns or hatches?
