Not stupid. It is removed the last week to allow more oxygen. Most of us keep it out, and lose it. We don’t see a decrease in hatch rate by not keeping it in.I'm a complete newbie when it comes to incubators, do I leave the red plug in?

Please tell me you have at least one calibrated thermometer in there and a salt tested humidity gauge.
Remember you can not trust the installed instruments that come with the incubator.
You must purchase separate ones and calibrate them.
Mine aren't aren't free range though so im pretty sure they aren't laying.One thing about free ranging mine. They make great Easter bunnies when it comes to hiding them. Either they stopped laying or there’s a lot of eggs out there.
I have 40 eggs and it fits 41. I guess I'll order it for pick up so my husband doesn't lose himself inside WalmartYes, just salt test it.
