Although that said, they’re tiny so you’d probably need like 2 per person

So 50 isn’t really all that many.

Exactly!! So 50 really is hardly anything depending on how many family members and dogs you have.

I gave my husband all his gifts the first week of December The kids have to wait. I let them open 1 on Christmas Eve, It's what my parents let us do when we were little.

Maybe I'll hatch eggs as my Christmas gift this year.

I don't think I'll ever get quail because I can't find a single person who can ship here because of certification.

They probably can, but I wanted to support someone on BYC. I'm waiting for someone to get certified, they're the first person I want to buy fertile eggs from.

Down another 2 eggs... One had two black dots inside, it didn't look right. And the other had a blood ring. I'm down to 30 eggs

I'm going to put a box of eggs under the tree to hatch. Maybe my husband will get me fertile eggs from a farm down the road so I can hatch EE'S

i got my first button eggs from an ebay shipper out of virginia.....if you are ever interested in hatching buttons, I can try to find the info. in-state shippers usually not subject to same regulations. the ones that hatched were beautiful!!

no question is ever foolish.....buttons are the smallest quail. other name is “chinese painted quail” they are typically kept as indoor pets due to size and not tolerating temps below 50* well. the pic outside is of my “benjamin button”. he was a lone male from my original hatch and unfortunately we lost him in a raccoon attack the day before his potential mate (the indoor pics) was due to hatch.
