Hands on hatching and help

Oh really? There's dead duck and chicken carcasses hanging from the enclosures to deter predators! Does that count? I haven't been there in awhile but this person came here today and was joking about how clean my ducks pool was and laughing about how their ducks are lucky to have any water once a week! I just smiled. I'll start taking some walks over there and check it out but I'm pretty sure anytime will be the right time to call. ;) Thanks for the info!
Thank you. I saw it first hand at the beginning of summer and wanted to let some time pass before I made a report and I don't want to chicken out! But I'd like to do it by the end of this month.

I'm certain those would count, only exceptions are in active traps to catch predators as far as I know... just for that comment alone, I would report him... I know how hard this one is for you, hon... hang in there, you've got support for sure!

I have some questions and hopefully you guys can give me some guidance. I know of someone with a small farm and I need to report them. Their animals are living in very bad conditions and their chickens, ducks, and pigs are not given feed. They are just thrown moldy bread and corn. They are not given fresh water, ever. The water looks like mud and smells like feces. The big rubber bowls you buy at tsc are literally disintegrating because they have never been cleaned out and are filled with about 2 inches of feces on the bottom. There are double the amount of males to females. All the girls are bare back and bloody. Death is a daily occurrence. Everyone is extremely over crowded. And the animals that are injured are left to suffer. Never humanely put down. It's just a mess. But for important reasons it needs to be anonymous. I can't have this person know it was me. But my heart breaks for the animals. Who do I make a report to? Has anyone ever done this? Can you do it anonymously? My cover story was going to be that I purchased a couple chickens from a CL ad that I responded to. This person occasionally puts ads up on CL for animals. What do you guys think? I'm nervous but I can't turn a blind eye any longer.

You can also try your local SPCA if the other way doesn't pan out. I once had to report a friend who became an animal hoarder and it was kept completely anonymous, he never knew it was me. I just called and gave the information and they sent the police out to investigate. Unfortunately since he was mostly a hoarder of exotics and police tend to not know what neglect looks like for exotic animals, they never did take them away, but they did force him to give up the several ducks and chickens he was keeping illegally in his bedroom.

That's interesting. This person also has a room in his barn with dozens (4 or 5 dozen) of birds. Like cocktails, finches, pigeons, love birds. All loose in a tiny room (think closet size). I went in there to feed/water them and my lungs just stopped breathing. I had to get out of there and run outside. The dust and air from all their feces was so bad. And I'm not really picky like that (I brood chicks inside) and can handle a little dust. This was at a whole different level of bad. I'm worried about the cops because they know him. He's lived their since he was born, no joke. And the pigs always get out and the cops get called and are friendly with him. I'm hoping they send someone qualified to know what's safe for animals. And yes, this is basically a hoarder situation.

That's awful :( And birds have really sensitive respiratory systems, too. Cockatiels on their own are so dusty, I can't imagine stuffing a bunch of them plus other birds into a room the size of a closet. Heck, I'll report them for that if you don't want to. And I'd mention the cop thing to whoever you call so maybe they can send state level police instead of local who know him.

My nephew brought 18 guinea eggs yesterday. He was planning on bringing 18 more tomorrow from someone else he knows, and I was going to set them tomorrow, but then he messaged me and said go ahead and set them, he wasn't able to get the others. So I cleaned out the incubator today, put new liner in it and started it back up. I just set the eggs. They aren't the cleanest eggs and one is quite dirty. If it was my eggs, I wouldn't have set it. There's one with a free floating air cell too. So, I don't know how well these are going to do, but they are in there. They are little and funny looking. I'm so used to chicken eggs...lol I have a feeling before the first week is up I will be having to raise the humidity like I did the silkies cause these eggs are about the same size they were. Speaking of silkies I need to go and get pics. My boys look so big, and they are so beautiful. I think I have 4 boys, but the other two are paints and those I will need to sell, because I don't have room to pen out the paints seperately so I don't have the paints breeding paints. So probably Shadow, my big black roo and Blooie my crazy grayish boy will be the cover for the hens.

I primarily hatch guineas and I've found I can't do true dry incubation with them. Dry for me ideas in the 30s but the guineas do better in the 40s.

Ok @RubyNala97
I got updates of my clan.

First two pics are my toe attacker, Shadow. He's my biggest boy and seemingly the dominant roo so far.

This is the first one I knew w/o doubt was a roo. He always looks like a rag a muffin.

And there's Blooie....

The one on the left I believe is a roo.

Those are 4 I am sure about being males.

One girl

My blueish gray girl. She is a loner girl

My pure blac girl, Mystic

The one on the right is my most painted paint.

These are two that I'm not sure of, but leaning toward girls...

My black butt paint. I'm not sure about.

I believe this is just a better pic of one of the ones in the pic 2 up. I'm thinking girl. She's white, but has two wing feathers that are partridge colored, but are hiden under the fluff.

One of the chocolate eggs I got was pretty dirty, so I figured it was worth experimenting and I washed it off. Not totally submerged, but totally wiped one side with a wet paper towel and got the yuck off. I marked it so I'd know which one it was, and it hatched 3rd. No problem whatsoever!
