Hands on hatching and help

It's my philosophy to not put holes in eggs unless the chick has been internally pipped for 24+.  A hole is not going to aid an unpipped chick and has a higher probability of slowing it down. And if you do put a hole in it, you can't call it a pip and count hours off a man made hole. They need to attempt to pip themselves as well.

Congrats. They are cute. Sorry you didn't get the colors you wanted on the others.

Is their anyway to check to see if it's internally pipped without candling it? It's so dark I've not been able to see inside.. all the eggs from that batch have hatched now. That's the only one that hasn't.

Not really, unless you can hear it peeping. If you hear it, and don't see an external pip, then it has internally pipped.

Got a stethoscope? Or peck on the egg with your fingernail and hold it to your ear.

You can hold it up to your ear and tap it. If it peeps or taps back you know it's internally pipped. You can't even see the air cell at this point?

LOL You beat me.....
